Masashige Nakazono

Mr. Masashige Nakazono is an Executive Officer of MUFG Bank and Deputy Chief Executive of the Global Commercial Banking Business Unit in Tokyo. Since joining MUFG in 1998, Mr. Nakazono has built deep expertise in corporate banking, strategic planning, and international business strategy across Japan, Asia, and the United States.

Prior to assuming his current position, Mr. Nakazono served as Head of the Global Commercial Banking Planning Division, following earlier roles as Deputy Head of the Division and Deputy Head of the Corporate Planning Division in Tokyo. He also held a senior leadership role in Singapore as Managing Director in the Global Commercial Banking Planning Division, contributing to regional strategy development and execution.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Nakazono held roles in MUFG’s Global Planning Division in Tokyo and in the Investment Banking Division for the Americas in New York, where he supported corporate and investment banking initiatives across the U.S. He began his career in corporate banking and financial products development roles in Tokyo, gaining foundational experience across client coverage and product development.

Mr. Nakazono holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Tokyo and a Master of Business Administration with Honors from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
