MUFG Appoints Prasad Uddaraju as First Chief Data & Artificial Intelligence Officer
NEW YORK, NY (June 9, 2026) — Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG), one of the largest global financial groups, today announced the appointment of Prasad Uddaraju as the company’s first Chief Data & Artificial Intelligence Officer. Mr. Uddaraju brings more than two decades of experience modernizing enterprise data platforms, advancing analytics capabilities, and strengthening data governance across leading global financial institutions.
He is an accomplished data and technology executive known for delivering large-scale transformation initiatives that support business growth, operational efficiency, and regulatory confidence. Mr. Uddaraju’s expertise spans data and analytics strategy, cloud-based engineering, artificial intelligence and machine learning integration, and enterprise data governance across capital markets, commercial and investment banking, and corporate functions.
Prior to joining MUFG, Mr. Uddaraju served as Managing Director, Data & Analytics at JPMorgan Chase & Co., where he led the modernization of large, complex data environments and advanced cloud-native platforms and AI-enabled data solutions. Before that, he was Senior Vice President and Chief Data Officer at First Republic Bank, where he built enterprise data governance capabilities, modernized data platforms, and partnered closely with regulators. He also played a key role in the integration of First Republic’s data and technology platforms into JPMorgan Chase following its acquisition.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Uddaraju held senior leadership roles at Citi Markets, serving as Global Head of Markets Data Services, and previously at Lehman Brothers/Barclays, Freddie Mac, and Infosys, where he delivered enterprise data platforms, regulatory reporting solutions, and advanced analytics capabilities across global markets.
