James Fisher

CEO and President of MUFG Fund Services

As CEO and President of MUFG Fund Services (MFS), James is responsible for setting strategy, building partnerships with our clients, and creating distinctive solutions that meet their specific priorities through successful execution of our business strategy in a safe and sound operating environment.

James joined MUFG in 2016 as a Managing Director, primarily supporting MFS in the roles of Chief Risk Officer and Reputation Risk Officer for MUFG in the Americas. In this capacity, James was responsible for ensuring business and operational risks are effectively identified and managed through the establishment of sound risk and control framework.

He became Deputy CEO for MFS in 2021, and CEO and President of MFS the following year. Prior to joining MUFG, James spent 15 years with UBS Asset and Wealth Management where he held several leadership roles in the U.S., Europe, and Switzerland. Earlier in his career, James served as a management consultant and business analyst at General Electric and KPMG in London.

He received a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in international conflict analysis from Kent University in the United Kingdom.

James lives in Connecticut with his wife and three children.
