Yutaka Fujishiro

Head of Japanese Corporate Banking for the Americas
Yutaka Fujishiro was appointed as Head of Japanese Corporate Banking for the Americas in May 2025. In this role, he drives MUFG’s efforts to support the financial and business needs of Japanese corporates in the Americas. He is also a member of the bank’s Executive Committee for the Americas. This marks Mr. Fujishiro's second mission in the Americas, having previously served from 2006 to 2011 in the Planning Division for the Americas in New York.
Prior to his current appointment, Mr. Fujishiro was the Chief of Staff for Asia Pacific at MUFG covering 16 markets in Asia Pacific from 2023 to 2025 in Singapore and served as Deputy Head of Global Corporate Banking for Asia in Singapore since 2020.
Mr. Fujishiro has nearly 30 years of experience in corporate banking, strategic planning, and corporate governance including human resources at MUFG. He was Head of Strategic Planning with the Global Corporate & Investment Banking Planning Division in Tokyo in 2018 and was appointed as Chief Manager of the Chairman’s Office of the Japanese Bankers Association in Tokyo in 2017. Before these assignments in Tokyo, he served as Deputy General Manager for Global Human Resources Asia in Singapore in 2015, following four years as Director of the Global Human Resources Office in Tokyo in 2011.
In his early career, before his assignment in New York in 2006, he worked at the London Branch as a relationship manager for Japanese corporates in 2003 and served as an associate in the Corporate Banking Division in Tokyo in 1999. He joined The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, Ltd. in 1996.
Mr. Fujishiro received his Bachelor of Law degree from The University of Tokyo.
